Here’s what the research found:

• Consumers pay attention. Half of all consumers surveyed said they’re more likely to buy from a business if they know it’s a chamber member, and nearly as many said they’d recommend those businesses to friends and family.
• Reputation matters. Over 60% of respondents believe that chamber membership signals that a business is reputable, community-minded, and uses solid business practices.
• Visibility is key. The benefits only kick in if people know you’re a member—so don’t be shy about displaying your membership or sharing your involvement on social media.

But it’s not just about perception. The study also found that networking and business growth opportunities remain top reasons for joining, alongside the simple fact that being part of the chamber connects you with local leaders and resources you can’t find anywhere else.
